BeaconFey Announces National Roll-out of Trademarked Nurse Recruitment Plan

BeaconFey, an integrated marketing firm in the Baltimore area, has announced the national launch of their nurse recruitment process to hospitals around the country.

The program, which has been used successfully by BeaconFey on behalf of their many hospital clients, uses traditional marketing principles and applies them to nurse recruitment.

"Despite a severe nursing shortage, too many hospitals continue to rely on traditional recruitment methods," said Rob Fey, principal of BeaconFey. "Nurses have so many options today that it is no longer enough for hospitals to place classified ads that just list open positions."

The BeaconFey approach is based on market research done with thousands of nurses to determine exactly what nurses want from a potential employer.

"We have discovered that pay and sign on bonuses, while important, are not the primary motivator for a nurse in seeking a new position," explained Paul Wingate, principal of BeaconFey. "We use these motivators to develop selling messages to nurses, just like we would for consumer marketing."

The program develops a lead generation machine for hospitals that uses multiple and aggressive offers with messages that resonate with nurses.

"Since the average cost of replacing an RN exceeds $45,000, a vacancy of just 25 nurses can cost a hospital more than a million dollars a year," says Wingate. "Any reduction in the nurse vacancy rate not only allows better quality and consistent patient care, but also goes toward reducing health care costs for the consumer."
